Our

Our
Response: The powers and duties of the Ombudsman are
given in RPG Rules, 1998 which is available on the web site of GBIC
i.e. www.gbic.co.in

decision making process, including channels of Supervision and
accountability.
Our
Response: Procedure followed in the decision making

given in the RPG Rules, 1998 which are on the website www.gbic.co.in. The officers and
staff are on deputation from public sector life and general insurance
companies and they are guided by staff regulations of their
respective parent companies in addition to RPG Rules, 1998
(IV) The norms set by it for the
discharge of its functions
Our
Response: The norms set for the discharge of its
functions are mentioned in the RPG Rules 1998 which are published in
the Gazette of India on 11/11/1998. It is also available on our
website www.gbic.co.in
(V) The rules, regulations
instructions, manuals and records held by it or under its Control or
used by its employees for discharging its functions;
Our
Response: Some of the rules, regulations and
instructions are given in the RPG Rules. 1998 and other
administrative instructions are given in the circulars issued by
office of Governing Body of Insurance Council from time to time. They
are available in all the Ombudsmen offices.
(VI) A statement of the categories
of the documents held by it or under its control.
Our
Response: All complaints received and Awards and
Recommendations given by Ombudsmen are kept in the hard form at
respective Ombudsmen Centres.
(VII) The particulars of any
arrangement that exists for consultation with or representation by
the members of the Public, in relation to the formulation of policy
or implementation thereof.
Our
response: There is provision of an advisory
committee, the details of which are given in the RPG Rules, 1998.
(VIII) A statement of the boards,
councils committees and other bodies consisting of two or more
persons constituted by it. Additionally, information as to whether
the meetings of these are open to public, or the minutes of such
meetings are accessible to the public.
Our
Response : The Governing Body of Insurance Council
consist of one representative from each of the Insurance Companies.
The meetings of the GBIC are not open to Public and minutes of the
meeting are for internal circulation only.
(IX) A directory of its officers and
employees.
Our
Response : The list of Deputationist Officers and
employees are maintained and updated as and when transfers in and out
are effected.
(X) The monthly remuneration
received by each of its officers and employees including the system
of compensation as provided in its regulations.
Our
Response : The monthly remuneration received by the
Ombudsman is available on our website. Since all other officers and
staff members are on deputation from public sector insurance
companies, they are entitled to the remuneration available in their
respective parent companies.
(XI) The budget allocated to each of
its agency indicating the particulars of all plans proposed
expenditures and reports on disbursements made.

Report and is sent to member companies, IRDA and Government of India.

Our
Response : We do not carry out any subsidy programme.

Response : We do not issue any permits or
authorizations and offer any concessions.

Appellate Authorities and other details are available on our website www.gbic.co.in
